As AI data centers continue to scale, access to reliable power is rapidly becoming one of the industry's most significant constraints.
Electricity demand is growing faster than grid capacity, while resilience requirements continue to increase. Expanding power infrastructure often requires lengthy permitting processes, substantial capital investment, and years of development, creating a growing gap between compute demand and available energy supply.

Nugen is developing a novel on-site power platform designed for data centers and other mission-critical facilities. The company stores energy in stable solid-state hydrogen cartridges that can be transported using existing logistics infrastructure and converted into electricity on demand, providing long-duration, dispatchable power wherever it is needed.
What particularly stood out to us was Nugenโs fundamentally different approach to energy deployment. Rather than relying on new transmission infrastructure, fuel delivery networks, or large-scale battery installations, Nugen effectively decouples energy delivery from the grid itself. This enables power to be transported, stored, and deployed with a level of flexibility that traditional energy systems cannot easily provide.
The platform is designed to complement existing power architectures, helping operators address capacity constraints, improve resilience, and accelerate deployment timelines without waiting for major infrastructure upgrades. As demand for AI compute continues to grow, solutions that can deliver reliable power independent of grid expansion are becoming increasingly critical.
We believe Nugen is addressing a structural challenge at the intersection of energy and digital infrastructure, one that is likely to become even more important in the years ahead.
We are proud to support the Nugen team as they advance toward pilot deployments and commercialization, and look forward to being part of their journey as they redefine how mission-critical facilities access and deploy power.
